100th picture post for me...and I ♥ Faces Challenge today is Before & After shots.
This challenge is for us to post some pictures from before we got " good" at editing and shooting and then some pics that were taken in August this year... with the newer skills we have learned!

Fix it Friday~ 8/28

Its Fix it Friday over at iHeart Faces.

Using Picnik I cropped, I darkened the Exposure color and used Vignette to darken the corners.


I also used Picnik and sharpened image. I then used Sepia tones and created a frame.

Using Picnik again I used the matte and soften features and then I framed this one as well.

I ♥ Faces~ Nostalgia

This weeks theme at I ♥ Faces is : Nostalgia

We spent the weekend at Cape Cod. My husband's family grew up at this little Cape Cod Cottage and they would spent whole summers here. I grew up on a lake in Maine so it has taken me awhile to get used to the salt air and dampness of the towels... the sand everywhere....you know!
The best thing about the weekends there now is watching my husband with the kids. He is totally relaxed and at peace here. He misses his mom. Alot. You can see this in the shot below, one I took when he wasnt paying attention to me. He was telling the kids a story about his mom ( Nana Carol....she passed away before my kids were able to meet her) and he was getting a little teary. I can feel the nostalgia when I look at this picture. I can feel his past.

I usually use Picasa to do my simple editing... however I just discovered Picnik and I have used that today for my edits.

This was easy for me this week because we are in the middle of Crazy Football Schedule in the Crazy House!!! That means 5 nights a week until school starts Sept 2nd!
